A3: Concept Selection and First Iteration
Building on the concepts selected in A2, teams will rapidly prototype the first iteration of their product concept. To do so, they will build on the scenarios of use that were developed, do additional research on users, products and materials, and conceive of product functionality. In addition, "experiential prototypes" that illustrate some of the behaviors of the product may be created. This is the most critical assignment in the semester, so it is important to make the best use of individual and team work time. Creating rough prototypes early on and making good use of the website to communicate ideas will be critical to succeeding in this phase of the project. .Educational Goals
The goals of this project are as follows:- to create a first iteration of the product and screen prototype of your solution
- to develop communicative artifacts (sketches, screen sketches, and 3D prototypes) in order to obtain feedback from the design community and the clients
Deliverables
The deliverables for this assignment are as follows:- schedule of proposed milestones
- problem statement
- additional research plan
- refined concept sketches for your product
- form studies for your product (sketches and models)
- interface studies for your product (sketches and time-based prototypes)
